Sabbatical Leave Bond

A sabbatical leave bond is a surety bond that guarantees to reimburse an educational institution or school district the salary paid an employed teacher during a sabbatical leave period, if the teacher fails to report for duty and render a two year period of service following return from such leave. The amount of a sabbatical leave bond is set in the amount of total salary payable during leave period.

NOTE: Please complete and return the application with a copy of your bank statement, a copy of the letter from your school district approving the leave, and a written statement of what you will be doing while on leave.

Please sign as both the Applicant and the Indemnitor, have your signatures notarized, and provide for a witness's signature. Also include mention of the dates you are to be on Sabbatical, and the income that would have been earned while on Sabbatical.
